The Principal
Meghan Wood
Dr. Meghan Wood assumed the role of acting principal at Southside in July 2024 after serving as the assistant principal for four years. Prior to working with Fayette County Public Schools, Wood taught English and served as the testing and instructional coordinator at Madison Southern High School in Berea. She holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education from Eastern Kentucky University, a master's degree in English from Morehead State University, and both an Educational Specialist degree and Doctorate of Education in School Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands.
At Southside Tech, Wood supports student academic and transition success by collaborating with community business partners and stakeholders. She believes that all students have incredible potential, and she is passionate about ensuring that students know their options for opportunities both during their high school experience and once they graduate.
